EPIC MATH AND LITERACY!!!

 Kia ora,

This week in Gillstrom Literacy, Me and Sam started creating ideas for our upcoming story about Nathan and Quetholen, Nathan is our Protagonist and Quetholen is our Antagonist which is what we have been looking into implementing into our writing.

This week for maths we have been learning more about inverse Bedmas which is exactly how it sounds it is backwards Bedmas which once you get the right method is actually pretty easy, here is a quick example

3x + 7 = 10

      -7      -7 = 3

  3/3 = 1 which is the answer!

This week the Kapa Haka which I'm in performed in front of my school which was really embarrassing but I felt good once it ended and we have an upcoming performance at the Cultural Festival which is gonna be fun.

The Great Holidays And Epic Work!!!

Kia ora,

For my holiday I did absolutely nothing it was quite boring but I did hang out with my friends more than I usually do. I got to hang with my family more since my Mum got a new job which was nice.

For Math this week I have been doing multiplying and plusing decimals, it was surprisingly easy it definitely looks way harder than it actually is. I struggled at first but as I got into more questions and got the right method it got a lot easier.

Like for instance if you had a question like - 1.13 + 23.4 = 24.53
Which is just simply 1 + 23 = 24    10 + 40 = 50   50 + 3 = 53 add together and you have your answer!

For literacy, we learned about Protagonists and Antagonists, which basically means the good guys vs the bad guys. We watched a classical film called the Great Train Robbery which was one of the first films ever made which is quite an amazing thing, if you would like to watch it, it is a really good film.

We are in the making of creating a conflict in our story's, me and Sam just finished drawing our characters here is the slide if you are interested in our story,

My Module for the ISS

 Kia ora,

This week I have been making an ISS module before it gets into it this is what the ISS is. The International Space Station is a large spacecraft in orbit around Earth. It serves as a home where crews of astronauts and cosmonauts live. The space station is also a unique science laboratory. Several nations worked together to build and use the space station. On Minecraft Education I made a Botany Obersavation laboratory on a Minecraft version of the ISS,  I think this would make a good addition to the ISS because it can grow organic life so they can stay up in space for longer. I added lots of windows so the light can shine through onto the plants and I did a downstairs as an emergency and all of the top plants didn't grow anymore. It was really fun making it, I hope we do something like this again!

This Is NEW PAKISTAN

NEW PAKISTAN

Kia ora,

I have been working on an amazing project in Mr. G's Math it is about making and creating our own countries, it was really interesting learning about how we can measure our coordinates and our bearings for our landmarks. My scale factor for my Map of my country was every 20mm it was equal to 40 km IRL if want to learn more check out my slide if you enjoy my work make sure to give me a thoughtful and helpful comment to tell what I'm doing right and wrong. I hope you enjoy my map it took quite a while to get everything completed I will put a picture of my physical map on later.

The One Fin Wonder!

 Kia ora,

This week we have been working on our rocket and our rocket film. I am in a group with Alex and Oliver Edwards, We were a bit short on time so we only had one fin sadly but it still did better than Mckenna's group, we got 10m which is still pretty bad but it could have been worse, next time I will attach only two fins together instead of four on only one fin. We are in the making of our film to follow up on the rocket I will post it once it is done so stay tuned. I have learned lots about rockets and how they work in the past couple of weeks special thanks to all of the engineers that helped out. Congratulations to Variety to technically winning.

Python Code PSA

Kia ora, My PSA is about Bullying which is effecting lots of kids nowadays it is getting worse every day, kids should not suffer for how they look or act among other children, it is a growing problem in the world and it needs to stop, or else more and more kids will fall into depression for things they cannot change and should be proud of how they look.

This code is about Bullying and its effects  This message is towards all of the kids who arent comfortable in their own skin.               I used some nice bright-colored clothing to appeal to the eye and I used adults as the conflict breakers because kids should never be afraid to ask for help.
